from mid-June, Guide has announced it has added more features to the already “feature
rich” IR518 range of thermal imaging monoculars. The new IR518E version now includes
The unit is available in 3
model types, the IR518EA which has a 25mm, 160 × 120 resolution detector, the
IR518EB with a 25mm, 384 × 288 resolution detector and the flagship IR518EC
with its powerful 50mm, 384 × 288 detector.
Unlike most the
other products in this category, the IR518E features a 50Hz update rate, a
selectable colour palette, 2x digital zoom, a white hot/black hot polarity
switch, adjustable focus and auto standby for power saving. The innovative “hot
spot tracking” feature identifies and displays the hottest spot in the display
to enable the user to find and then track any object on the water.
Still in the same robust, ergonomically
designed and easy to use enclosure, the IR518E is lightweight, protected by a
rubber armoured sleeve and is rated IP66.

video recording capability and come complete with carry case, hand strap,
shoulder strap and breakout cable for battery recharging and video output.
The IR518E series will be
on display with all Eurotask’s other products at stand B177 at the SeaWork Show

Prices for the IR518E start
at less than £2,530 ex VAT and are available ex stock through Eurotask and
